The Winds of Change

Over the past several years I have been, like many who have been influenced by, and caught up in, the hype of certain individuals who have based their living on motivating and helping us live a life of success beyond our wildest dreams.

In fact, it resonated with me to such a degree that I found my path leading me along the same path as these individuals in my desire to help others create a life of success and abundance.

In finding my own successes, small at first, and then growing larger, I discovered my niche as I worked on my own life and applied many situations that I was discovering within my meditations, and overcame what I needed to in order to rise above.

I found myself surrounded amongst some of my greatest idols and I was happy.

But as I stood among these idols, and the “star-struck” eyes which were blinded began to regain their focus, I started to notice things. Some subtle enough that it was almost like viewing it out of the corner of one’s eye, but when looking straight on, it was gone. So I dismissed them.

The more I tried to dismiss, it seemed the more the Universe was showing me. What I learned became something that has really burst my bubble and caused me to question my Self and my own motivations.

In the Bible there is a warning of “wolves in sheep’s” clothing. We have been warned to be aware of false prophets in “the last days”.

Whether we are in the “last days” or not, I don’t know. Those who believe in the end of times will tend to look at any matter to prove their point, so for many the end of the Mayan calendar will bring such a time; but those who followed the Egyptian calendar believed that we should have died at midnight 2000. But alas, here we still are.

But what I do know, and what I am observing more, is that there seems to be more individuals in position of power who are teaching practices for the sole purpose of their own return.

Most recently, a very tragic event occurred in which one of our world’s foremost self-help guru’s practices and teachings are coming under scrutiny. Not to mention the criminal charges that may be surfacing.

We all know to whom I am referring, but I would rather leave names out.

The unfortunate thing is this, when I first watched The Secret and the interviews on Oprah and other shows, I too fell under the spell of this person. So when I was informed several months ago about an incident that happened to a couple of friends of mine who at attended a weekend seminar of this individual, my bubble burst as I felt “another one bites the dust”.

Yes dear reader, over the past several years, I have learned more and more individuals have seemingly lost their original reason for undertaking the path which they have been sojourning on. The only reason that should drive any of us who sojourn along the same path and that is to be here to help you who seek us out.

And while I would never deny another for utilizing the fame that they have garnered along the way, the only reason why I feel an individual on such a path should seek fame and wide-spread notoriety should be in order to reach as many people as they can in order to help and create positive change.

While I do not deny that such fame will garner fortune, the problems begin to arise when one loses themselves in the energy of money. While the words spewed forth may still sound like the same wonderful ideas that they spoke of at the beginning of their path, the energy surrounding those words have changed, and when that energy change occurs, so does the true meaning. And unfortunately, the actions which individuals begin to take also change.

Tonight, my bubble burst just a little more for a certain individual for whom I also felt I was helping, whom I admired, whom I promoted, and whom I truly trusted. However, this individual decided to publicly admonish me for something that they did not take the time, or professionalism, or have the respect to inquire of privately.

While I am not one to eagerly jump on the band wagon of businesses without true investigation and prayerful meditation, in this situation, I jumped on board with both feet and held on tight. I risked my good name because I had a belief in this individual. I went on the premise of his being a “friend” of a friend, and that he was extremely adamant about his integrity. Which, after recent events, and now tonight, I must honestly question.

While a product may be a wonderful item, something which not only works but could almost verge upon “miracle” status, one has to be aware of those who are driving said products. Are these individuals all that they say that they are, truly?

I have been very fortunate to know some amazing people in my time; people who have been wonderful mentors and those who have become wonderful friends. What we must always be keenly aware of is that any and all individuals have the capability to become a mentor. Some mentors simply teach us how NOT to be, how NOT to act, and how NOT to lead.

Tonight, I have discovered such a mentor. While I trust and believe in the product because I have seen remarkable results, I have decided to no longer pursue it in a manner which will promote it, or bring others in to attempt to earn money.

Whenever I stake my name on something, a person, product, or service; I have to be very careful so as not to allow a situation to sway my path from the course from which I am on. That course is directly to help others; to truly help others overcome the obstacles in their lives which hold them back.

Success can be measured in many various ways. What is deemed successful to one may have little bearing or meaning to another. I don’t want to bastardize the term and limit anyone to what I deem as being success. I would rather you tell me what it is that you want to achieve and work together with you to reach that goal.

Friends, be aware of who you are listening to. Listen to your inner-being. Don’t get caught up in the hype of the sale, but rather HEAR your Self tell you if they are true or simply spouting nice words to line their own pockets, therefore becoming the only true “success” in the room.

Again, be aware, be present, and be in tune.
